APL 9.0 Preview
It’s April, it’s APL! There is no better place to spend one of spring’s last weekends on campus than on the football field watching teams fight it out for Ashoka’s (arguably) most important intra-college trophy; the Ashoka Premier League. People who cheered for the Ashokan football teams on the sideline during Agneepath now have the chance to prove themselves on the same ground where the Alums claimed glory this year, proving their talent in the best way possible in front of

Forged in Fire: Ashoka Squash Team
The squash courts at Ashoka sit tucked into the dim first-floor corridor of the Sports Block. Hundreds of students pass them daily on the way to the gym, but few bat an eye. The majority of students on campus have either never heard of squash or have never had the opportunity to play the sport growing up, so it’s not a sport they instinctively try out. This is exactly what the squash team is trying to address with their daily team practices and tournaments. We spoke to Abhay

Perseverance. For the seventh edition of Ashoka’s sports fest ‘Agneepath’, Edict Sports decided to sit down and talk to members of the women’s football team including the current leadership, Priyanshi Singh (UG2023) and Sanjna Sridhar (UG2023) along with Nihar Roy (UG2024) and Susanna John (UG2024). After I had finished completing the set of interviews, I sat down, wondering how I could put down the stories and insights I had gleaned from my conversations onto paper for the A

Forged in Fire: Ashoka Men’s Football Team
Your football speaks for itself. An apt summary of the Ashoka Men’s Football Team. The AUMFC’s football certainly speaks for itself, and it does so in volumes, as they enter Agneepath with a record that is hard to ignore. Since their first gold at BITS Goa in March of 2025, the side has put together a brilliant run of tournament victories, kicking off the new academic year with a gold at BITS Pilani, then coming back to sweep the World University of Design’s Cult sports fes

Forged in Fire: Table Tennis
Tucked deep inside the Sports Block, past the gym, past the cardio room, lies a room filled with high-flying balls, shouts of “Cho!”, and a lot of camaraderie. Most people don’t notice them, don’t see them hitting their best shots, but what they do see are the fruits of this team’s labour. Over the years, the Ashokan table tennis teams have gathered up an impressive list of victories: winners at BML Munjal, Rishihood University and Northcap University, podium finishes at IIT

Forged in Fire: Chess
In a sport that thrives on patience and foresight, Ashoka’s chess team has been fighting for years to be seen and respected. With their largest set of inductions yet, applicants battling through two days of tryouts, a deeper pool of rated players, and a captain wholly focused on winning, Ashoka Chess enters Agneepath 7.0 sharper, stronger and far more ambitious than before. Yet, despite high internal expectations and a consistently successful record, the team continues to nav
