Perseverance. For the seventh edition of Ashoka’s sports fest ‘Agneepath’, Edict Sports decided to sit down and talk to members of the women’s football team including the current leadership, Priyanshi Singh (UG2023) and Sanjna Sridhar (UG2023) along with Nihar Roy (UG2024) and Susanna John (UG2024). After I had finished completing the set of interviews, I sat down, wondering how I could put down the stories and insights I had gleaned from my conversations onto paper for the A

Since their first gold at BITS Goa in March of 2025, the side has put together a brilliant run of tournament victories, kicking off the new academic year with a gold at BITS Pilani, then coming back to sweep the World University of Design’s Cult sports fes

Most people don’t notice them, don’t see them hitting their best shots, but what they do see are the fruits of this team’s labour. Over the years, the Ashokan table tennis teams have gathered up an impressive list of victories: winners at BML Munjal, Rishihood University and Northcap University, podium finishes at IIT

In a sport that thrives on patience and foresight, Ashoka’s chess team has been fighting for years to be seen and respected. With their largest set of inductions yet, applicants battling through two days of tryouts, a deeper pool of rated players, and a captain wholly focused on winning, Ashoka Chess enters Agneepath 7.0 sharper, stronger and far more ambitious than before. Yet, despite high internal expectations and a consistently successful record, the team continues to nav

Quietly working their way back to the spotlight, the Ashoka tennis team is gearing up for an action-packed Agneepath. The women’s contingent, led by the steady presence of captain Anika Urs and the fiery drive of vice-captain Anushka Garimella, alongside the Men's unit, captained by the ever-so calm Arya Shah and their vice-captain Vaibhav Jain are stronger than ever going into the 2026 edition of their home tournament. When asked about the squad, the leadership was more tha

“ I feel like it's grown to the point where we're not seniors, juniors, we're not badminton teammates, we're just friends. ” This is what Gokul Sundararaghavan, Vice-Captain of the Ashoka Badminton Team, had to say when asked about the relationship dynamic among the players. When friendship and camaraderie are at the core of a sports team, it becomes easy to see why it has grown to be a recognisable force on campus and on the court. Now, with Ashoka’s own sports fest, Agneepa
