Negotiation with Protestors Fails: All 3 Demands Rejected, Bluspring Withholds Workers’ Wages

Updated: Sep 4

Negotiations between Bluspring Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kamal Pal Hoda and a delegation of ten housekeeping staff mediated by Registrar Sachin Sharma on 2nd September, 2025, failed.

The demands, including a salary hike to Rs. 18,000, a 10% yearly increase in salary, or reinstatement of the previously fired staff, were rejected. Faculty members who had been promised a role in the negotiations were denied entry into the meeting room. Meanwhile, Bluspring is withholding the August 2025 salaries of protesting workers, a source told The Edict

Following the 90-minute meeting, workers told The Edict that Bluspring officials mentioned that “disciplinary action against workers will not be taken for workers protesting until today,” as their sit-in reaches their seventh day. They were also not allowed to leave the room for external consultation from faculty and Adv. Kapil Balyan’s legal counsel.

Concerned faculty members spoke to the HR representative from Bluspring regarding the suspension of wages, who said, “It’s a management decision.” Registrar Sharma also asked the workers to raise this concern directly with Bluspring.

The administration stated they had a faculty representative from the Workers’ Welfare Committee, Deepak Asthana. A source, however, told The Edict that only Sachin Sharma, Dr. Dheeraj Sanghi, the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA), the ten staff members, and Hoda were present in the meeting.
